Welcome!
The purpose of this site is to provide information to students to parents and to create a central location for key student study topics for ELA-Silver that will be used throughout this year. See the upper menu for pages related to our quarterly course content.
Who am I?
My name is Hannah Wilkinson and I teach ELA-Silver for the Champion team. At LVMS, 7th graders have two ELA classes: Silver and Gold. How does this work? Great question.
How does ELA-Silver fit into ELA-Gold?
The 7th Grade ELA curriculum is divided into four quarter-long units. Each unit will be centered around a theme. In each quarter, students will:
- Class Novel Study
- A study of short readings from our MyPerpspectives textbook
- A Final Written Essay based on evidence from the MyPerpectives textbook
- A Final CSA Reading Test
- Independent Reading (The one activity we do that is not based on the theme. These novels are always based on the student's choice)
In order to guarantee that students are able to accomplish all of this and more, these tasks are divided between our two ELA classes with one class focusing on a novel and the other focusing on the textbook. The breakdown of when each class will focus on which text can be found below. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. My email address is also located below.
